Are you a fan of scary rollar coasters?

Here's a wacky story out of the UK where an extreme rollar coaster has been built that does 2 things.  #1.  It scares the bejesus out of fighter pilots and #2.  In a test, crash dummies came back from a trip on the coaster missing limbs!

Good Lord, that's extreme.

The ride is a "winged" coaster – a variety in which some or all of the riders are in floorless seats with their legs dangling free.  The ride is called "The Swarm" and it's located in a fun park called Thorpe Park in Surrey.

The ride hits speeds up to 62MPH as it zips along a post-apocalyptic setting.  So next time you're across the pond, check out this new ride and report back to us!   I'd do it, I swear!  My left arm is overrated anyway.

A free classic read...Treasure Island

The best price is often free, so here's a free book from Amazon.  It's the classic tale of Long John Silver and his pirate friends in Treasure Island.  The book was written in 1883 by Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson.

Remember, even if you just have an I-phone or I-pop (touch) you can download the free kindle app and enjoy this book for free.   Better yet if you have the Kindle Fire that's $199 over on Amazon.

A story of mail order Cialis

I try to practice what I preach.  So often times you'll see me pitching products on this blog that more often than not, I end up buying and trying.  How could I suggest YOU buy something if I don't know for sure if it's good stuff?

So...my newest partnership Kwikmed.com.  They sell all sorts of LEGAL RX but it's no surprise that some of their better selling products are ED pills such as Viagra, Levitra and my favorite, Cialis.

There are about 15,000 sites on the web where you can order ED Pills.  But 14,990 of them are illegal, fly-by-night and you have NO clue what pills you'll actually get.   They're cheaper than Kwikmed but why risk it?   When you order from Kwikmed you're working with a LEGAL US based company that's been featured in the Wall Street Journal.

A real doctor will review your medical survey that is required before you place and order.  And Kwikmed dosen't just approve every order, so you may or may not be approved based on your health.

But I did place an order.  Once I got the pills, yes, I tried them.  I took the 20mg pill and used the included free pill splitter to make my 3 pills 6.  Do I need this product?  No.  But damn did it provide an extra punch!  If you have any type of preformence axnity issues Cialis will knock out ANY worries.  Once you take a dose you need to give it 45 mins or so and it's go time.  You don't get hard for any reason, but when it's time to get it on, you're ON!

(the shipment comes in a non-descript FedEx envelope)

Plus the product works for 36 hours!  That's right, just one little pill and I was good for 36 hours.  That's a long time.  With my 3 pills split in 2 I have (6) 36 hour fun times ahead of me.  I've only done 1/2 a pill once, and it was great.  I didn't have any side affects at all.  Well, except for a raging case of morning wood that took care of itself after my morning visit to the restroom to relive myself of last nights water.

So if you're thinking about trying out a ED pill, this is a great way of doing it.  I didn't have to see a doctor and confess to him that I wanted to give it a try.  It was all done online and I got my pills for around $120 with shipping.  Kwikmed sometimes has deals and if you order more pills, you get a better price break.

Check them out at: www.KwikMed.com/cialis, and thank me later for my very candid confession here on this blog.  That's called taking one for the team!

Mardi Gras Boobs from 2010

In honor of this years celebration...

Boca Chica in the Florida Keys

Want to know a Keys insider tip?  There's an unofficial nude beach just outside of Key West.  Go to mile maker 10 on Highway 1 turn beside Circle K on SR 941, follow it to the end approximately 5 miles (8.0 km) and park. Walk beyond concrete barricade and you have a 4-mile (6.4 km) stretch all to yourself.

It's not a legal nude beach, nor is it a pristine beach.  But it's a place where locals sometimes sneak off to to strip down in the Florida sunshine.  Recent reports have the authorities still turning a blind eye, but if you do get approached, be smart and cover up.  It's also not a beach for sexuality, it's a raw beach for the nudist at heart.

Kim Kardashian hits the beach in Miami

Damn this girl looks good.  No matter how much she annoys me, there's no question that she's not hot.  Kim was in Miami recently and took a few days to hit the beach and lounge by the pool.

The question is:  Does she look better from the front or back?

Unusual hotel amenties

In an effort to draw in more visitors hotels are now offering unique perks.  Most hotels still have the "standard" perks including room service, concierge service, and more.

Some Rosewood Hotels, including The Carlyle in New York, have a 24-hour fragrance butler. When summoned, he appears with a selection of perfumes and colognes on a silver tray. If the scent wears off, call again. The butler won't cut you off.

The Benjamin Hotel in New York has a sleep concierge who assesses your sleeping habits and helps you choose from an extensive pillow menu. Still having trouble sleeping? The concierge will send up a peanut butter-and-jelly banana bread sandwich and warm milk.

Loews Coronado Bay Resort in California has a dog surfing instructor as part of its Su'ruff Camp. As part of a package that includes a one-night stay, canine guests get doggie board shorts or a surfer bandana.

he Ritz Carlton has a tanning butler at its property in South Beach in Miami, a guacamologist in Dallas and a vibe manager in Palm Beach.

1/2 price cabins on Titanic cruise

"Cabins, get your cabins!  Half off, cabins!"

This April will mark 100 years since the Titanic sunk in the frozen waters of the Atlantic.  To honor those who died, and to have an excuse to cruise, the 710-passenger Azamara Journey is hosting a Titanic cruise.

It's actually the 2nd of 2 cruises but the first one sold out over a year ago.  The second cruise still has rooms and since it's getting close to cast-a-way time, they're 1/2 off.   I checked their site, for the 8 night cruise you can now get a cabin from $1,999 and up.

If you do book you'll be leaving April 10th, 2012 from New York City, the same day the Titanic embarked on its doomed journey from Southampton, England, in 1912.

You'll first visit Halifax, Canada, where passengers can visit the Fairview Lawn Cemetery, the final resting place for many of Titanic's victims.  A few days later you'll be arriving at the exact site of Titanic's sinking on April 14, when memorial services will be held.

Check them out further at:  www.titanicmemorialcruise.co.uk.   And if you do book, please contact us, we'd love to do a follow up post.

Carnival Miracle introduces an adults only area

Carnival Miracle, the 2,124 passenger cruise ship built in 2004, has introduced an adults only area on their cruise ship.  Now, at the back of the ship, sits "Serenity", the new area that's free of kids.

No, you don't get the topless decks of old, but you chill without having 300 kids jumping all around you.  Also included is a full pool and bar just for the adults.  The ship also was updated with flat screen TV's in all cabins plus they updated a ship night club.

Now 20 out of 23 Carnival ships have adult only areas on board.

Another California hotel with a nude pool

If you're looking for a hotel that's a "normal" hotel but just happens to have one pool that's clothing optioal, go to the Ventana Inn & Spa in Big Sur, CA.  I haven't a clue how this hotel has slipped past me this whole time but it does indeed have a section where you can disrobe.

The Ventana Inn & Spa is all about creating a zen, holistic retreat with such offerings as yoga classes, discovery walks, afternoon wine and cheese, Japanese baths and two pools.  One of those pools is clothing-optional and includes a nude sun deck.  Both pools are kept a very comfortable 80 degrees year round.

Prices for this luxury bed & breakfast run from the lower $400's to the upper $800's depending on the day of the week and when you book.  To back up these prices it's rated #1 in the Big Sur area on Tripadvisor.com for B&B's in the area.

This is my first "chaser" post to yesterdays contest post.  Yesterday I was blogging about how you can stay in Ecuador for a month if you win this contest.  I also included a link to a website out of Ecuador with apartments that are available.

I went to the website out of curiosity.  Damn, it's the real deal!  Apartments starting off at $250 per month and you can get pimping pads for $800 to $900, I mean nice stuff!

Take this one for example...

Price:  $865 per month.   Size: 3BR 2BA - 1,300 sq. ft.

 Direct link to this listingwww.cuencarealestate.com/Rent/216.

This 16th floor condo in one of Cuenca's newest high-rise project features great views over the city.  Condo has three bedrooms (one serves as an office) and 2 baths and is comfortably furnished.  The neighborhood, near the Tomebamba River greenway, has good restaurants, a modern supermarket in a small shopping mall and the city's largest indigenous mercado.

Comes with fully equipped kitchen, bed and bath linens and washer - dryer. Rental includes utilities, CATV, internet and condo fee. Building has elevators, underground parking, 24-hour security, CATV and internet.  No pets or children under 12 allowed.  One-month minimum rental.  AVAILABLE MARCH 9th 2012.

What?!?!?!   I think I'm gonna move!  Well I can't just yet, but if I was ready to retire, this sure looks like a good city to move to.  Also, some people are moving there for a year just to learn Spanish, muy bueno!

The Westin in Indianapolis

With all the Superbowl coverage from this past weekend it reminded me of my stay in Indianapolis back in 2002.  I was there for a 2 day weekend on a business stay and had the pleasure of seeing Indianapolis fantastic downtown.   I also had the pleasure of staying at the Westin.

The Westin is a 4-star hotel that was built in 1989.  It has 573 rooms priced from the upper 100's to the lower 300's depending on what room you'd like and when.

According to the Westin themselves, "The Westin Indianapolis enjoys an unbeatable location in the heart of the city. Connected by a covered sky-bridge to the Indiana Convention Center and Circle Centre Mall, guests have access to everything they need, whether traveling for business or leisure. We are only a short walk from area attractions like Lucas Oil Stadium, Conseco Field House, Victory Field and the NCAA Hall of Champions."

Back to me.  I enjoyed the stay and my room had a killer view of the capital.  I found myself hitting the hotel fitness center during the day and walking downtown at night.  I even set my foot in Lucas Oil Stadium, the home Peyton built.

Check them out at:  www.westin.com/Indianapolis, where they might even have specials running now that the superbowl, and perhaps Manning, are leaving town.

A way cool 1910 poster from Jamaica

Here's a way cool collectors print of a 1910 advertisement trying to beckon tourists to Jamaica.  This poster print shows a woman standing before a body of water carrying a fruit basket on her head.  In the background, mountains and a village.

Snag it over at Amazon for $29.99 and put it in your home to be reminded of the good times on your favorite island of Jamaica.  Oh, the print is about 2 feet tall by 18 inches wide.

Shipwrecked Costa Concordia has riches

Odd story here.  The Costa Concordia was a major tragedy and continues to be a problem.  More bodies lie in the ship, people are missing, families grieve.  Once this is all worked out, they'll be riches awaiting.

Essentially, Costa Concordia was a floating luxury hotel.  And with the super quick departure of over 4,200 people, a lot of things were left behind.   The guests had fancy jewels and watches for dining out and the ship itself had shops selling high end jewelry products.  Also on board are over 6,000 fine art prints.

(a diver searches the sunken Concordia)

Who can dive the ship when it's time?  Well after about 7 months, or longer, divers might be allowed to dive the ship, if it's safe.  Most passengers will have settled claims with both the cruise ship and their private insurance polices to cover their losses.  So once it'd diviable, it's first come, first serve.

For now...you'll have to wait.  The ship is surrounded 24/7 till the ship is free of bodies and deemed safe.

What it was like flying in the 60's

I found a cool webpage from a seasoned traveler.  So seasoned in fact that he used to fly a lot in the 1960's before this blogger was even born.  Things seemed way different back in the day.  A few samples...

  • Smoking was permitted anywhere on the airplane
  • No laptops, no cell phones (duh)
  •  The stewardesses were pretty young women
  • No security procedures of any consequence
  • There were observation decks at many airports
  • The vast majority of the passengers were businessmen
  • You could buy life insurance at the airport!!!

The coolest travel bag in history, IMHO

And you'll think it's you they're taking pictures of?  Not only is it tough and simple on the outside, but inside too.  Lined with pigskin (what they used to make footballs out of), it is easily cleanable and extremely resistant.  Pigskin is the second strongest skin in the world, kangaroo being the first.  Most owners use this luggage as accent furniture in the entry, next to a sofa, stacked as a coffee table, on top of an armoire or next to the desk in their office when not traveling.
There are purposely no wheels attached since those would degrade the look of a classic piece such as this and certainly break.  Use a foldable luggage cart for the luggage and then for your carry ons.  This suitcase is made to last longer and age better than its owner.

Cocos Island - an uninhabited island

Are you looking to visit an uninhabited island?  If you head about 340 miles west of Costa Rica you'll find Cocos Island, and it's empty save for a few park rangers.  The island is a rectangular 9.2 mile long surrounded by deep Pacific ocean waters that play host to amazing marine life including sharks.

You're not allowed to stay overnight on the island but if you gain permission from the park rangers you can visit the island.  Every year the island seems to attract two types of tourists:  #1.  Scuba Divers and #2.  Treasure Hunters.
#1.  Scuba Divers:  The waters around Cocos Island offer some of the best diving on the planet.  The island was even named one of the best 10 scuba diving spots in the world by PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors) and a "must do" according to diving experts.  Large schools of hammerhead sharks are consistently reported there and most every dive ends up with sightings.

#2.  Treasure Hunters:  This island is popular in pirate lore as well. It is said that over 300 expeditions have gone in search of treasure such as the hoard of Benito Bonito, the Treasure of Lima, and many others.  Some incidents of small caches have been discovered, leading many to believe the stories of vast pirate treasures to be valid.

Whatever the reason you visit the island you'll most likely experience great weather.   Average lows, even in "winter" are around 76 degrees and the hottest it typically gets is around 87 degrees.  While on the island you'll deal with frequent rains but nothing that would ruin a visit.
