Rihanna's newest video, "You da one"

Here's my celebrity crush singing away from her newest song of her newest album, "Talk That Talk."  The music video for "You Da One" was filmed on November 26 and 27, 2011, in Northern Ireland.

Side notes:  Rihanna grabs her crotch 11 times in the video, trust me, I counted.

A FREE internet reggae music station

I found out about this FREE reggae music channel the other day and I wanted to share it with you.  It's ran by a college student out of the UK and while it's free, they certainly won't turn down donations!   The site has a few nice options allowing you to stream it into your browser or music players.

They're playing classic reggae plus the new hits 24 hours a day.  Their website they have 2 goals.  #1.   To broadcast reggae music to as many people as we can all over the world.  #2.  To spread the righteousness that is Rastafari.

All of this makes me wonder why I drop $5 bucks a month to stream in Irie FM.  I guess I'll justify it by saying it's LIVE and from Jamaica.  But for FREE, this channel is kicking ass!  I've had it on all afternoon.

Google offers a new music service

Who loves Google?  This blogger does!  G-Mail, Google Voice, Google Calendar, Google Maps, Google Docs and now my new favorite, Google Music.  It's another "cloud" type of service meaning the music that's stored is stored on THEIR drives.   You can also setup Google Music to automatically backup your I-Tune songs that you've purchased, now you got a backup.

Now they're setting this up so you can buy music from them, much like Amazon or I-Tunes, but you don't have to purchase from them to use Google Music.  Plus you can download a lot of FREE music from Google's music page.   You can also share your music on Google Plus, Google's version of Facebook that's growing.

All of this can be great for travels.  If you're in your hotel room you can pull out Google Music and play all the fun tunes you love.  All you need is a computer with 'net OR your smart phone.  I'm going to check this out more and get back to you with details.

Just an update, these headphones ROCK!

I did a post last year, "Cyber-Monday" hot deal at Amazon!, about Boqari Q1M earbuds.  As usual I bought what I blogged about and now, one year later, they're still going strong and are damage free.  My problem was my I-Phone earbuds kept getting damaged with 3-4 months of use.  I don't have these problems now.

The sound is crisp, the cables are very durable and they have great bass.  If you're in the market for a good pair of long lasting ear buds, I'd suggest these.

A cool song by Parov Stelar

This is the song from Parov Stelar that I bogged about last week.  It's featured in the commercial for The Cosmopolitan Hotel in Las Vegas.  It's a great song and you can grab it off Amazon for .99 cents.

Once you download the song from Amazon you're free to do with it as you wish.  All their music downloads are DRM-free, so you're not restricted in how you use the music you buy.  Install them on your I-Pod/Pad/Phone, your other MP3 players, burn a CD, whatever.

Rihanna's newest video is out

Do you remember 3-4 weeks ago when some Irish farmer got all pissed off at Rihanna for walking on his land topless?   Well that video, "We found love", is out.  Watch it below to see what all the commotion was about.  It also features British boxer/model Dudley O'Shaughnessy.

What do you all think?  Too wild?  No big deal?  I'd liked to have been Dudley, and I'd even had done it for free!  See how nice I am?

Jimmy Buffet inspires new casino in Vegas

This coming October 1st, 2011, a new casino is set to open in Vegas.  The Margaritaville Casino at the Flamingo will be a 15,000 square feet casino inside of the Flamingo which already holds Buffet's Margaritaville restaurant.  The renovation is giving this chuck of Flamingo Casino a Buffet style of look including indoor palm trees and tropical colors.

The Casino, located next to the restaurant, will offer 22 gaming tables, 220 slot machines and a 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar...all directly accessible from the sidewalk on the famous Las Vegas Strip.

(Margaritaville has a volcano that erupts periodically during the eventing)

To celebrate the new casino the folks over at the Flamingo are going to mix up 2,000 gallons of tequila and make the world's largest margarita!   The 8,500 gallon beverage will be witnessed by Guinness World Records officials on October 11th, 2011.   Swing on by and grab yourself a Margarita and celebrate!

What $179 per ticket buys you in Los Angeles for a concert

So we hit up the Sade concert last night in Los Angeles at the Staples Center and it was AWESOME!   We had scored tickets almost a year ago and our seats were pretty decent.  Sade rocked out a lot of her old hits plus new songs of her latest album, Soldier of Love.

(Sade from our seats)

The concert lasted about 3 hours total which included a warm-up set by a surprisingly good John Legend.

Nicki Minaj gets a fine for cussing in Jamaica

Well &@&$*!!!   Big booty star Nicki Minaj was in Montego Bay this past weekend for Reggae Sumfest when she slipped a few foul words during her performance.  Problem is is that Jamaica has a law that forbids foul language in live performances.

Nicki Minaj performs for the first time ever in Jamaica at Reggae Sumfest 2011

So Nicki got fined $1,000 Jamaican (about $11 US).  It was paid by her attorney and off she went.  Later via Twitter she posted, "OMG!!! I swear I just had the TIME of my LIFE @ ReggaeSumFest in JAMAICA!!!!! Jamaica I fell in love tonite! WOWWW!!!!”

A free Ziggy Marley MP3 song, "Forward to Love"

Fans of Ziggy Marley might want to know about a free MP3 song on Amazon.  It's Ziggy's new hit "Forward to Love" off his new album, Wild and Free.   If you need help with Amazon's MP3 service you can go back to our post that was put out in February of 2011, Using Amazon to buy and upload MP3's onto your I-Phone.

Forward to Love

Marley recorded "Wild and Free" in Los Angeles with producer Don Was and a group of musicians that includes Rolling Stones bassist Darryl Johnson; "He played with Miles Davis, and I wanted to hear Miles stories," Marley says with a laugh.   Key to the album, however, were the extensive demos that Marley made in his home studio, which he says made it easier to achieve the sound he was looking for on "Wild and Free's" 12 tracks.

Bob Marley's "Legend" CD

If you want to claim to be a fan of music, reggae or Jamaica you better have Bob Marley's legendary "Legend" CD on your shelf.  This is the king daddy of all island music, it's a CD with 16 (as of 2002) classic Bob Marley Songs.  To date it's sold over 10 million copies right here in America and over 5 million in various other countries.

Legend

The album was released by Island Records in the spring of 1984 and I got my very own copy around 1989 where we jammed with Bob while playing volleyball in summers.   Some of my favorite hits are "Could you be Loved" and "Three Little Birds."  But the entire album is full of great songs.  In total it's over 50 mins of great music that was recorded from 1972 to 1983.

Live on Bob Marley and the Wailers!

Dr. Dre's Beat Headphones

Have you all heard about Dr. Dre's headphone line, Beats?   They seem to be the #1 most popular headphone for music lovers there days.  Anyone that I've spoken with who's tried a pair on has gone crazy over how good they sound.  A friend of mine (who's a DJ) said that they allow you to hear elements that you couldn't hear before that opens up more creative possibilities.

According to their website:  "The music you listen to in your headphones should capture all the sonic details the artist wanted you to hear. But normal headphones can’t deliver the rich, full sound in today’s digital audio tracks, especially not smaller, lightweight headphones. But Solos high performance headphones, which are designed for today’s active lifestyles, deliver sound so real, you’ll be amazed it’s all coming from something so compact and portable."

(click on the pic to learn more)
According to reviewer Becky, "It took me a while to find these headphones for a price I was comfortable spending, but the wait was worth it! These headphones are INCREDIBLE!!! The sound is so crisp and clear with deep bass that isn't overpowering. They block out a great deal of outside noise and are comfortable to wear for long periods of time. I love them!!!"

According to me:  They might make a great travel headphone as they cancel out noise PLUS you can rock some great tunes on your I-Pod/I-Phone or whatever.

Rihanna's "Man Down" video...

Well, the official video has came out...and in it Rihanna caps a dude in the head to start off her video.  Right or wrong?  Wrong Rihanna, but at least you look good in the video.

(a braless Rihanna in Kingston)

Screen cap above - watch the video below

I love Rihanna (my celebrity lust crush) and I love Jamaica.  So I enjoy the video, other than her shooting a guy in the head.  She's got too many young impressionable fans to be doing that, IMHO.

Jamaican dancehall artist Vybz Kartel

Vybz Kartel is a 35 year old Jamaican dance-hall artist out of Portmore, Jamaica.  In this video clip you see Vybz in "Da building" located at Knutsford Boulevard in New Kingston which is known for its 100% dancehall music.  It's also synonymous with go-go dancing.  He's encouraging a few young ladies to strut their stuff.

He's also got his own line of rum called Street Vybz Rum.  I'm not sure how a guy in California gets a bottle of this rum, it's hard to find online.  Maybe next time I'm in Jamaica I'll be able to snag a bottle for a review.  It's a 80 proof brand that comes in a clear rum or a more aged dark rum.

Most recently, Vybz (above) won 2010's WBLS Caribbean Artiste of the Year and EME's Male DJ of the Year.  If you wanna check out his music you can score his Pon Di Gaza album via a MP3 download from Amazon for $14 found here:  Pon Di Gaza 2.0 [Explicit].

Is she looking goooood or what?  The actual video should be mass released very soon and we'll make sure to post it.
