Do you try to save power when staying at a hotel?

When on the road does it come to mind to switch off lights and/or TVs when not in use? For me, sometimes, but not as much as if I'm home. There's a story out there stating that nationwide hotels spend $2,200 per room each year in electricty and water costs. So some hotel chains are on the move to save money by letting their hotel guests about wasted energy.

How about just going green when you travel? Forget trying to help a hotel extend their bottom line, but don't forget about Mother Earth. It's so very easy to get into this "vacation" frame of mind while you're away from home but wasted water/power is still wasted. So maybe just switch off a light or two before heading out for dinner.

Food for thought on a Sunday morning.
