Way back in 1996 I went camping down in lovely Key Largo. We booked a few nights at Kings Kampground, a 55 camp site at mile marker 103. Once we got there we fell in love with the area and especially the prices. I don't exactly remember the but they are still VERY affordable.

For example, if camping is not your think you can rent out a 2005 Coachman RV that sits right on the bay from $100 a night to $125 per night, not bad! But if you do like your camping feel free to stay on one of the many sites near the water from $40 bucks a night in the summer and $50 a night in the winter. For that price you also get use of the campgrounds amenities such as: Private bathroom facilities with showers, full laundry facilities and the beautiful Florida bay. Each camp site has full water and electric hookups plus picnic tables and bar-b-ques.
We stayed two nights at a campsite and loved it all. It's like their website states, "There is no better feeling then camping and cooking on your bar-b-que and looking over the open water of Florida Bay as the sun sets." And it's true. It's such a peaceful place plus it's close to local diving sites, restaurants and if you hop in the car and cruise you'll be in Key West in 2 hours.

Usually when I come to Key Largo i say in a hotel, maybe try camping next time. I usually come down there to snorkel and go swim with the dolphins. Sounds good!
