New Orleans is a magical city, filled with history, great people and Mardi Gras, which starts up March 8th, 2011. So I thought I'd check out New Orleans #1 hotel, The Omni Royal Orleans.
The Omni is located near the French Quarter, where all the action is. Prices at The Omni range from $170 to $328 for this 4 star hotel that has 97 rooms. People who've gone there rave about the excellent service and the location. The hotel itself is nice with a pool, fitness center and on-site restaurants, but it's the service that get's this hotel the number 1 ranking on TripAdvisor.com for the area.

As one recent guest wrote, "The location in the quarter is top-notch, our room was spotless, and the service was impeccable." Another person wrote, "Wow, what a great stay! The folks at the Omni certainly do everything they can to make your stay a pleasant one."

Of course you have a few whiners as always, but with a rating of 93%, The Omni seems like a great place to crash while staying in the Big Easy. And to read up on Mardi Gras, check out last years post: Spotlight on Mardi Gras.
