Vegas now has a 'naked pool' at the Artisan Hotel Boutique

But don't get too excited, it's not a fully nude hotel pool.  At this now re-named pool at the Artisan ladies can go topless but that'll be the extent at this 'naked' pool.   Cons?  This pool party is just off the Strip, Google Map, and not as big or glamorous as other adult pools of the well-known resorts. So don't expect celeb-packed, ultra-chic surroundings.  Pros?  Women often get in free and the average entrance fee for out-of-town males is $10, a much cheaper price than the other pool parties.

"It's about having a great place to chill for the day, have some drinks, enjoy great music, and escape from reality. No long lines and thousands of people."  Michael Crandall, director of business affairs for The Siegel Group.

 The 'naked' pool is open 10 to 6 daily.  Naked's events include "Beer Goggle Monday" and "Wasted Wednesday."   I'm not sure if those themes fit in with Michale's "chill for the day" speech, but it sounds good to me.

SuperClubs chairman, John Issa, talks Hedonism II

I found an article in Jamaica's newspaper, The Observer today.  It outlines SuperClubs chairman John Issa's battles with Hedonism II's image.  Mr. Issa recently sued the newspaper for defamation in the Supreme Court of Jamaica, about a ruling was recently handed down.

  The following are excerpts from the transcript of the trial in Justice Kay Beckford's Court in Jamaica:

Charles Piper -  Observer's attorney

John Issa - Chairman of SuperClubs and pretty cool guy!

Charles Piper: "...in relation to Hedonism, the Hedonism brand, the image of nudity or clothing optional is one which you have projected?"

John Issa: "It's part of the Hedonism brand image, underlying part."

Piper: "What do you mean by underlying part?"

Issa: "Because the way you ask the question it sounds like that was the predominant image."

Piper: "Does your company have a website?"

Issa: "Yes."

Piper: "And specifically does Hedonism have a website?"

Issa: "Yes."

Piper: "What's the name of the website?"

Issa: "Hedonism.com."

Piper: "...And this is a page from your website?"

Issa: "Yes."

Piper: "Would you agree that the predominant theme on that page is nudity?

Issa: "No, because one, two, three, four I haven't done a statistical thing, but most of the pictures show people with clothes and the headline here is 'Sold' and this looks like it's a page where members sign up."

Piper: "Well let's see what it says."

Justice Beckford: "Where people sign on?"

Issa: "Yes, sign on, because it says join now and it says 'members log in'. I am not familiar with every page on the site so..."

Piper: "You see, the first sentence there: 'You can always spot a Hedonism guest, hand all over and wearing his smile for what seems to be no reason at all''

Issa "Yes."

Piper: "Be wicked for a week, they say, and images of pleasure and passion, decadence and debauchery, simmer and sizzle?"

Issa: "Yes."

Piper: "So that's the part of your hotel's image that you wish projected?"

Issa: "Yes."

Piper: "Am I correct in saying that you are proud of that image?"

Issa: "I haven't used that word, but I am satisfied with that image."

Piper: "Are you proud of that image?"

Issa: "No, I am happy with that image."

Piper: "So you are not proud of that image?"

Issa: "No, I don't think the word proud applies to my feelings, I am very satisfied with this image."

Piper: "You need to answer my question, are you proud?"

Issa: "I am answering you the way I have answered it."

Piper: "Are you proud?"

Issa: "I am very satisfied with that image."

Piper: "Very well, I will accept that. Are you satisfied with the image of your hotel being connected with decadence and debauchery?"

Issa: "I would have selected different words if I was writing this site or if I had seen it. I would have used 'Bacchanal' instead of 'Debauchery', decadence I would have to think on."

Piper: "But you agree with me that it is out there as part of your image?"

Issa: "Yes."

Piper: "And you are now saying that you are not really satisfied with it?"

Issa: "I am generally satisfied, but I am talking about one word out of

many."

Piper: "My question was were you satisfied?"

Issa: "Yes, I am satisfied with it."

Piper: "You are also satisfied with the imagery presented in the next sentence: Here you can feel free do your thing, your way, because we believe that what you do and with whom you do it is entirely your own affair"?

Issa: "Yes."

Piper: "And you are also satisfied with the words at the foot of the page 'When it's good it's oh so good, and when it's bad it's even better and yes, everything you ever heard is true'?"

Issa: "Yes."

New Jamaican cruise port Falmouth is having issues

Fans of sex and drugs might be happy but for the rest of the traveling world and Jamaica, they're not.  New cruise port Falmouth in Jamaica is having problems with drug dealers and prostitutes bugging visitors.  I did a spot recently about Prostitutes at Hedonism II and now it seems we got new problems.

Both the Jamaica Observer and Go-Jamaica this week are reporting that passengers getting off ships in Falmouth are complaining of harassment from local Jamaicans selling goods and services -- harassment so severe that Royal Caribbean has threatened to keep its passengers from leaving the dockside port compound and entering the town.

The news outlets say the harassment prompted Jamaica's tourism minister, Edmund Bartlett, to issue a warning this week to residents of the area, and Falmouth's mayor held a hastily called town hall meeting on Monday.

The news outlets note Royal Caribbean met last Friday with local officials and other tourism industry stakeholders to complain about the harassment.  In response, officials have promised an increased police presence during ship visits, including more undercover officers, starting with this week's visit of Royal Caribbean's 5,400-passenger Oasis of the Seas, the news outlets say.  A new licensing system for vendors also is being implemented.

A.M. hookup website, right or wrong?

I'm not here to play moral judge.  AshleyMadison.com is a website designed to hook up people, married or not, together for companionship and sex.   They claim that one most dating sites it's mostly that anyway and at least they're being honest about it.  They've been featured on Dr. Phil, Howard Stern, Maxim and TIME magazine.

American Air sues Orbitz, citing 'monopoly power'

American Airlines Inc., the third- biggest U.S. carrier, sued Travelport LP and Orbitz Worldwide Inc. to stop what it called their anti-competitive conduct.

 “Travelport effectively controls the distribution of airline tickets to a large number of business travelers,” American Airlines said in a complaint filed with the federal court in Fort Worth, Texas yesterday. “Travelport and Orbitz have entered into agreements with one another and with others to exclude competition and maintain Travelport's monopoly power.”

 The Fort Worth, Texas-based airline wants to provide fare and flight data directly to online travel agents like Orbitz instead of paying fees to go through global distribution systems such as Travelport. American spent more than $300 million on such fees in 2010.

Bombs found under Seattle's cruise ship terminal

A news story out of Seattle's King 5 News reports that the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has found more old unfired munitions under the Seattle cruise ship terminal used by Holland America, Princess and other lines.

The news outlet says a multi-million dollar cleanup operation in recent months at Seattle's Pier 91 has resulted in the discovery of 11 military munitions and more than 200 other military munitions-related items.

The site of the cruise port was used as a military depot from World War II to 1971, and the munitions likely were dropped overboard or inappropriately discarded in the water, the news outlet says. While still capable of functioning, they have a low risk of exploding, it adds.
