Take a cruise thru Downtown Los Angeles, in the 40's

Here's a way cool clip from the late 1940's of a car zipping along Downtown Los Angeles that was meant to be used as a background for an unknown film.  The 6 min long clip provides a wonderful glimpse of post-WWII Bunker Hill in Downtown LA plus it gives a nice peak into the silent film era of filming.

A lot of the area in this film has now been replaced with huge skyscrapers that make up our modern Los Angeles skyline.  A big renovation was started in the 50's that pushed the last of the old Victorian homes out of the area in favor of commercial development.
