Get into National Parks for free Sept 24th

Free is always the best price!  And this Saturday Yosemite National Park, and 100 others, are free to enter in honor of of National Public Lands Day.   The purpose of National Public Lands Day is to encourage people to come to the parks and help pick up litter and do various projects.  Officials hope to get the equivalent of $15,000,000 in improvements from the event.  They better let you in free if they're getting that type of help!

(even the Grand Canyon is FREE)

I did a search on their website and it said I could volunteer (if wanted) at Angeles National Forest by working:  "Half day of trail maintenance, removing litter and other needed improvements."  This was the park nearest to us that we could help out at.   But keep in mind, it's not required that you help, the parks are free to get in either way.

National park entrance fees will also be waived Veteran's Day weekend, Nov. 11-13, but reservation, camping and concession fees and other charges collected by third parties, including some tour fees, remain in effect.
