Rum Review - Ron de Jeremy Rum

You might think of several things when you think of porn star living legend Ron Jeremy, but usually, rum isn't of of them.   But now, thanks to 72-year old master distiller Francisco "Don Pancho" Fernandez, you can!   The new rum line is, according them the bottler, "a high-end dark rum that's oak aged for seven years, resulting in a rich, smooth flavor with hints of vanilla, sugarcane, fruit, and spices, and comes in a bottle with Ron Jeremy's likeness on it."

The rum is a molasses-based blend that is distilled in Panama.  It's then aged for 7 years in oak barrels before being bottled as a beautiful golden amber color rum.  On the nose it's all nose of the rum is all caramel and honey.  On the tongue it's sweet, thick and rich.  Secondary flavors include banana, almonds, and honey.

I haven't had the pleasure of trying out this blend and frankly, I haven't even seen it being sold at local stores here in Los Angeles.  If I come across a bottle I might just pick it up out of curiosity.   Shelf price seems to be in the $35 mark for this bottle of 80 proof rum.

Once I get a bottle, I'll share more thoughts!
