Behind the scenes at Vacation Barefoot Travel Blog

Who makes a blog, why make a blog, how long does it take?   I'm here to interview...well, myself!   I got a list of common questions for bloggers and I'll attempt to answer them for you.   I spend about 90 mins per day at this point on the blog, it's more of a passion/hobby than a real income producer.   Yes, I make money if people click on ads or if people go to DR Nights or pay for membership at AshleyMadison.com but for the most part, it's a labor of love.

Where do you see yourself blogging wise in the next 6 months, and 5 years down the road?   Short term I hope to just keep doing what I'm doing now.  Posting daily with stories, news and facts about adults only travel.   Long term I hope to grow Vacation Barefoot Travel into a blog that generates a loyal reader following of 10,000 or more visitors per day.

What is the ultimate Goal for a blogger in your opinion?
For me at least it's to share with others who are passionate about the topic you blog about.  I really enjoy travel and the sexy places people can explore.  Blogging is an excellent outlet for your creativity.
Which one plugin would you suggest all bloggers to have?   Most blogs these days need and/or require the latest in both Java and Adobe plug ins.  If you're not up-to-date with the latest in technology it's hard to bring the type of embedded creativity sites offer these days.

(yours truly after a big day of blogging)
(note Jamaican art and money on wall)
(and yes, I'm out of tiger blood)

Any specific tips you have for new bloggers who want to make it in the blogosphere?   Post weekly with content that's unusual, easy to read and easy on the eyes.  Stick to giving quality info your readers can benefit from.

Ever been to another country or state that you liked better then where you currently live?  Sure, of course. Everyone knows I love the Caribbean especially Jamaica and Roatan.   I also enjoy Las Vegas, Key West and New York City.

When you write for your blog do you stock pile posts, why or why not?   Oh yes, I sure do.  I have at least 8 posts ready to go at all times.  You just don't always have the time to write so when you do, you can go nuts.  Some stories are time sensetive, so you can't "bank" as many of those.  Recently I took a weeks vacation and most of it was away from the computer.   It's a good thing I had a bank of posts, I was able to keep the blog up and running even tho I was only able to get on a few minutes per day.

What is your average monthly income over the last 6 months?   Ok, now you're getting personal.  Call it $300 a month for now.  If more people visited the sponsors I'd make more, it's all a numbers game.  But this is the rule I think of in terms of making money...."Do what you love, and the money will follow."

THE END

Thank you for checking in with us over here at Vacation Barefoot Travel Blog.  It's my pleasure to research fun places, find cool stories and post great photos all pertaining to adult travel.  I'll keep this blog going strong so keep checking back for new info.

UPDATE:  If you're also looking to do the same, I'd suggest starting here, Travel Blog Success - eCourse & Community, where you can learn BEFORE you make all the mistakes most people do at first, like me.  :-D
