Pechanga Resort & Casino - a good Vegas option?

If you live in SoCal, Southern California for the non-hip, then I'm sure you've either heard of or stayed at one of the Indian owned casino's in the past.  If you haven't, we're going to review one of the more popular today, Pechanga Resort & Casino.

First off, Pechanga is located in Temecula, Google Map, which is about 90 mins South-West outside of Los Angeles.  It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere but it's a compound all it's own.

It's got 522 rooms that opened up in 2002 in this 14 story structure.   It also features 3,400 "Vegas style" slot machines, a 54 table poker room, 130 table games, a health club, pool and pool bar, 3 retail shops, a hotel spa, 7 restaurants and a 1,200-seat showroom for entertainment.

The Pechanga Showroom Theater, a 1,200-seat venue, has hosted acts, including Journey, Backstreet Boys, Bob Dylan & Carrie Underwood, magician David Copperfield and comedian Jerry Seinfeld, among others.
Rooms start from around $110 and go up to $350 but if you hook up with the players club you might get better deals, Players Club.   If you're a cheap slot player, fine, they got pulls for a penny.  Do you like dropping the big bucks?  Then roll on over to the $100 slot machines big guy.

So Pechanga is a nice place to to just to get away for a few nights but it's more of a "family" or PG rated casino.  If you need the sexy of Las Vegas then it's another 5-6 hours east of LA.  But if you just want to blow some money and you don't want to drive far to do it, this might be the place for you.
