This week aboard Carnival's 4 night Baja cruise Paradise a 30 year old woman gave birth to a baby girl!
Cruise lines typically have a policy that prohibits pregnant women past the 24 week period to sail on a voyage. Carnival's policy, in particular, stipulates that "pregnant women are only allowed to sail if pregnant for 24 completed weeks or less at time of cruise disembarkation. All pregnant women are required to produce a physician's letter stating that mother and baby are in good health, fit to travel and the pregnancy is not high-risk. The letter must also include the estimated date of delivery."
The ship was heading back to Long Beach when the little one decided to arrive early so they got close to San Diego Harbor where the family was greeted by the local Coast Guard that got them to a local hospital where it's being report that both the Mother and newborn are doing just fine. The cruise ship then kept on cruising to Long Beach mostly on track and no worse for the wear.
What to name the child? Paradise is the pick so far among cruise message boards.
That ROCKS! Get it, rocks? Rocking of the ship? Or the baby? hahahahahha
