An A380 plane gets hit by lightning - no problem!

What happens when a vicious lightning bolt nails the worlds largest commercial airplane packed with 500 people?   NOTHING!   It happened last week in London as the big boy plane was coming in for a landing and cameras were rolling.   All 500 passengers were perfectly safe and there was not even a scratch on the plane.

It's not all that uncommon for planes to be hit by lightning due to the fact that they buzz into storm clouds disturbing the atmosphere, causing the lightning to form.  Most commercial planes get hit about once a year but due to their aluminum shell, nothing usually happens.  The last plane to be taken down by lightning was in 1967 when the fuel tank took a hit and exploded.
