Just for kicks - the original I-Pod

The world before October 23rd, 2001 shall be known as "pre-apple" to me.   Sure, Apple was around but with the introduction of one simple device, the I-Pod, everything changed.  Apple launched it's first I-Pod that had a 5 gig hard drive about the size of a quarter, a mechanical spin wheel with 4 auxiliary buttons and lots of room for music, about 1,000 songs.  It was good for about 10 hours of play time with it's battery and the price tag was $400.

These days you can get the same gizmo for $275, Apple iPod touch 32 GB (4th Generation) NEWEST MODEL, but it's with color, 32 gigs and it's more like a little computer rather than just a black and white music player. They truly are a cool little device and when you travel, they can be a lifesaver.

I-Pod sales by year, sales topped out in 2008/2009 when selling nearly 60 million per year.

And with the new I-Pods you can purchase movies and games along with your favoite tunes.  A 32 gig model has a capacity for about 8,000 songs, 40,000 photos, or 40 hours of video, BOOOO-YA!   This will keep you company on those long flights, train rides or time in a car.  Plus now you get 40 hours of audio play compared to the original 10 hours of the first I-Pod.   You see, things do get better with time.
