Frenchmen's Cove in Jamaica is a 45 acre nature playground that's near the city of Port Antonio on Jamaica's Eastern coast, Google Map. This resort is a historic, family-owned acreage that's tucked away in a charming fishing village in Jamaica.
Frenchmen's Cove has it's own private beach, fresh water stream and lush grounds. In a world of a big resorts it could be nice to be on family owned land, because it's less commercialized. Guests are invited to explore the grounds, cool off in the river or play on the beach.
They have one "great house" that has 10 rooms all with their own bathrooms and 14 private villas that are either 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms. Rates run from $95 bucks to $295 (US dollars) per night and this includes breakfast, WiFi and maid service. When chilling out at the beach you get beach towels and beach chairs.
As one commercial review says..."Far from the hustle and bustle of Ocho Rios, Montego Bay, and Negril lies Port Antonio, a secluded paradise in the undeveloped north-eastern corner of the island. A region graced with beaches, waterfalls, and the most spectacularly tropical scenery on the island."
On TripAdvisor users give Frenchmen's Cove a mixed review. Some complain about the resort needing more maintenance and updating while others enjoy it's service. It's by all accounts a rustic resort w/o TV's or computers, but for many, that could be just what the doctor ordered. Has anyone been here?
