As of today it seems that at least 5 Jamaicans are confirmed dead and at least 16 are missing due to Tropical Storm Nicole.
Schools were closed Thursday and more than 170,000 electrical customers were without electricity because of downed utility poles, broken conductors and faults on the electricity network, the Jamaica Gleaner newspaper reported.
